Dear Nintendo

I’m sorry I left you. Left you alone, waiting in that Italian restaurant on the downtown square. You know the one, they serve the great meatballs that you love so much. Sure, I kind of kept in touch on the side but we both know I was in bed with that other game company.

I couldn’t help it.

I am weak.

That other game company was so quick and seductive. With its Final Fantasies and its Metal Gears. With its flashy rendered FMV and 3D breasts, then later with its violence and gore. But I see the light now. You see, that other game company is turning into a prudish bitch. It’s demanding that I pay it more and more. She’s just gold digging now.

But I’m not going to put up with it.

I want you back. You see, our recent DS outings have shown me the error of my ways. I have remembered what gaming really is to me. It’s not a 700 dollar player for an uncertain movie format; it’s a system that’s fun and innovative. It’s a system that may not be the best in graphics and sound but has its sights on providing a quality gaming experience.

Now I won’t lie to you. I’ll still probably fool around a bit with my old friends like Grand Theft Auto and Devil May Cry, but I want my new friends to be my old friends. I want my Mario and my Link.

I know now that I’ve always been loyal to you. Sure, I like that Sega Company a lot but their systems have never been quite up to par with yours. But now I can have both on that front so you shouldn’t have any problems there. I always defended your SNES against the Genesis. I never even owned a Game Gear until I found one for 5 bucks at a garage sale, and even then the speakers don’t work. But I’ve always loved my NES. Through all those other contenders, even that unnamed other company, I’ve always loved my NES. And The Game boy. What better system is there really? It goes anywhere; it’s quick and fun, I’ve always kept up on my Game Boy.

So I’m asking you Nintendo, my old pal, please take me back.

Please forgive me for doubting you.

Please can Wii be together again?

Sincerely,

Ramen Junkie
