E-Hobby Cassettes

I made a post recently about preordering the commemorative series Soundwave being put out in December.  Nicely, he includes two cassette partiners, Ravage and Laserbeak.

Now I find myself wishing I had Rumble and Frenzy, among other cassette transformers.  Enter this repaint set.  This wierd freaky repaint set.  E-Hobby is relatively well known for it’s repaints of G1 toys in the Transformers community.  Most of them are pretty clever, some are just kind of wierd.  heck it’s possibly E-Hobby that spawened the recent community love of the character Sunstorm.

I’m a big fan of “things with fruity colors”.  I used to have a philosophy that tbe best way to be a geek was to have as many interests as possible that are the same as a ten year old girl without comming off as flamingly gay.”  this isn’t really true but it’s still someting I used to say.  That said, I like the colors of this set.  I’d love to have them to go with my upcomming Soundwave.

On the other hand, it’s part of the KissPlay line of Transformers.  this is the same like that gave us  that god awful officially liscened Manga where the Megatron look alike tries to rape a young girl.  It’s one thing when a company like say, Gainax, officially exploits it’s characters with sex on a property already overrun with fan exploitation (Evangelion), it’s another thing alltogether when something innocent like “Robots that turn into things and fight” is exploited for sex.

Anyway, it’s probably a needless thing to worry about as I’m sure the price on these will be considerably higher than I’m willing to pay.
